Make Connections During Blue Star Welcome Week 2024 — September 21-29

2024-09-23

Get involved with local businesses, community events, and community members as Blue Star Welcome Week supports a sense of belonging for military families, September 21-29, 2024.

Blue Star Families (BSF) has been making a global impact on military families around the world since their founding in 2009 by a group of military spouses. Their efforts help empower servicemembers to thrive throughout military life, and that’s just one reason AAFMAA is proud to be a part of Blue Star Welcome Week, recognizing the approximately 600,000 active-duty and transitioning military families who move to new communities each year.

From September 21-29, BSF will spend the week focused on helping military and Veteran families get to know their communities better, meet their neighbors, and feel a sense of belonging in their new homes. Military-affiliated organizations around the world are encouraged to get involved and help welcome new military families to the local neighborhood. And, if you’re one of the families who has recently moved to a new area, make plans to attend a Welcome Week event, such as the Stroller Warriors Workout, Welcome Week Scavenger Hunt, children’s and music events, and much more that may be happening in your local area.

As the longest-standing nonprofit organization dedicated to serving members of the military community, AAFMAA is your trusted partner in building financial security for the years to come. From life insurance to mortgage solutions to financial expertise, we help guide Active Duty, Veterans and spouses with a deep understanding of military life.

About Blue Star Families

Blue Star Families was founded by military spouses in 2009 to empower military families to thrive by connecting them with local community individuals and organizations for mutual support. Their groundbreaking research raised the nation's awareness of the unique challenges of military family life and, with the help of neighbors across the country, BSF helps families overcome the isolation and alienation of frequent moves, deployments, and disconnections through a variety of innovative programs. There are more than 150,000 members in the Blue Star Families network, including those in chapters and communities all over the world, whose efforts touch more than 1.5 million military family members every year.
