Each year, more than 200,000 servicemembers leave the military to transition into civilian life. Navigating this stage can be complex, but it’s important to keep in mind that there is no right way to transition and there are many resources that can assist you along the way.

Beyond the Uniform

Beyond the Uniform is a free, on-demand Veteran career resource to help military Veterans identify, evaluate, pursue and succeed at their ideal civilian career. Check out their on-demand webinars and podcast episodes to get started.

BreakLine

BreakLine provides education and support to help transitioning servicemembers pivot into a career in tech. They offer interactive learning, mentorship, and networking, but they’re best known for their virtual month-long program which is free and open to the public. Coursera

You can get free access to Coursera.org specialization and certificate courses through the Veterans Transition Support program. Online courses include Project Management, Construction Management, Patient Safety, Supply Chain Management, Cybersecurity, and more. Begin studying here.

Fortinet & Blue Star Families

Fortinet offers Veterans and military spouses free online, self-paced cybersecurity training through its Security Academy Program. It also includes a Network Security Expert (NSE) exams voucher, starting at the NSE level 4 (valued at $400).

PM-ProLearn

PM-ProLearn offers Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification exam prep training. PMP study materials for Veterans include a free EBook. Salesforce offers the Trailhead Military program — free, self-paced, virtual training that can help members of the military community launch a career in tech.

Vets2Industry

Vets2Industry is a free resource library for active, guard, reserve, Veteran, military spouse, dependent children, Blue Star and Gold Star families, and caregivers.
