Amanda Gertel has served as Executive Assistant at AAFMAA since June 2019. As the Executive Assistant, she supports the President, Treasurer, and other members of senior management in scheduling, event planning, and other administrative tasks. She also serves as the liaison between the AAFMAA Board of Directors and the AAFMAA Staff.
Amanda earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is also credentialed as an Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) from the HR Certification Institute®.
Amanda lives in Herndon, V.A. with lots of happy houseplants. She enjoys volunteering in healthcare facilities, visiting with family and friends, and interior design. Amanda also runs her own jewelry and precious stones business.
After graduating from JMU in 2016, Amanda worked as a Project Manager at a large family medical practice in Fauquier County, Virginia. She has amassed more than 1,000 hours of volunteer hours with organizations in the childcare and healthcare industries.
