Survivor Assistance Services (SAS) is an integral component of every AAFMAA Life Insurance policy and our AAFMAA Survivor Assistance Services Members.
When you consider the distinctive requirements military families have to provide, you need someone knowledgeable who will lead you through the complexities of applying for military and government benefits and entitlements. Every single AAFMAA Member and their family can rest easy knowing that an AAFMAA Survivor Benefits counselor is there to provide immediate, personal assistance and peace of mind to the surviving spouse and dependents. Our compassionate, highly trained staff will explain our policy settlement options so that beneficiaries can make the right choice for their needs. Death benefits can be initiated as soon as we receive an original death certificate.
We’ll notify government agencies and life insurance companies to initiate their claims processes and assist with completing and forwarding claim requests so benefits are received promptly. We will continuously follow-up to ensure that benefits are paid in full.
We’ll make initial inquiries and do the follow-up work in claims disputes, acting as advocates for your loved ones.
Surviving Spouse Continued Support
We’ll continue to support your surviving spouse after you are gone by sending them a personalized report on their benefits and entitlements.
