You and your family deserve honor and respect, because military life is hard. We know because we've lived it, too. And we want to make it easier by working harder for you. We are people, not products and paperwork. We answer when you call. We show up on time. You are the reason we do this.
Commercial insurance companies often keep proceeds from death benefits in separate bank accounts held in a general corporate investment account. These accounts earn investment income for the insurance company, while survivors receive uncompetitive rates.
AAFMAA does not have retained asset accounts. All funds are always invested for the benefit of members or their survivors at competitive rates. We invest settlement amounts for the survivors, as well. All income after expenses is returned to the members or their survivors.
For 138 years we stood with service members, active and retired, and helped them look out for their families. With this tradition come certain time-tested principles. Sacrifice. Honor. Loyalty. Compassion. Since our founding in 1879, we have upheld these principles as our guiding light to help service members and their families achieve a secure future.
Since 1879, AAFMAA has helped active and retired service members and their families manage life’s uncertainties. We are a good value with reasonable rates. We provide the best survivor assistance. And most importantly, we are there for you when you really need us. Plans can change; ours don’t.
From our $4,000 Career Assistance Program loans at 1.5% to insurance overage up to $1 million to survivor assistance in the hardest times, AAFMAA is there to help you breathe easy.
Life is uncertain. You can count on us.
No company exists for over 130 years on luck alone. That sort of success comes only from knowing your members and their families like they are … well … like family. With more than $1 billion in assets, more than a century of experience, AAFMAA is here for the long haul with customer service and products to help you get through the journey of life.
