The process of qualifying for a CAP Loan begins when you complete your application for Armed Forces Mutual Membership, which includes the CAP Loan benefit.

Before You Apply

Gather the Following Information & Documents

At the end of the application process, you will be asked to upload electronic copies of supporting documents like your military ID, LES, or medical information, so you’ll want to have them with you before you start. Your progress will be saved automatically and you will receive an email with a link that can return you to your application where you left off if you need to stop at any time. Be sure to keep that link handy. Without it, you will need to restart the application process from the beginning. Completing your application should take about 20 minutes.

Basic Identification

Your Social Security Number & Date of Birth

Contact Information

Addresses of those to be named in your policy (Owners and Payers)

Additional Verification

A copy of a government-issued ID (driver’s license or passport)

Pay Statement

A copy of your most recent LES

Important: This application is for new Armed Forces Mutual Members and first-time CAP applicants only. If you are already a Member or if you have previously had a CAP Loan, you might qualify for another one! Call us at 800-336-4538 to find out.

Ensure Your Benefit Eligibility

Select a level of coverage that meets these CAP Loan Member benefit eligibility requirements:

  • At least $250,000 of term insurance, OR
  • At least $25,000 of whole life insurance, OR
  • $100,000 of BeyondBasic® coverage

Then click the "Get a Quote" button at the bottom of the form

Review & Apply

Review the policy quote options that have been tailored to your request, select the quote that best fits your needs, then click the “Apply” button.

Confirm the Details

When prompted, review and confirm the details of your policy.

Look for "Additional Benefits"

On the "Product Selection" page, locate the "Additional Benefits" section to review policy features.

Check the box to add the CAP Loan Member benefit to your application.
