As a current OCS Candidate, joining Armed Forces Mutual with $100,000 of BeyondBasic life insurance means you’re eligible for the CAP (Career Assistance Program) Loan — a benefit of Membership that nearly 50,000 servicemembers have used since it was created.
The CAP Loan is a $5,000 personal loan that you pay back over 60 months at a fixed 2.5% APR*. Use the funds when and where you need them — help pay for your next PCS, cover higher education costs, get extra financial support during a deployment, or make a big purchase or large debt easier to manage. It’s totally up to you. No collateral. No prepayment penalty.
Important: This application is for new Armed Forces Mutual Members and first-time CAP applicants only. If you are already a Member or if you’ve previously had a CAP Loan, you might qualify for another one! Call us at 800-336-4538 to find out.
You’ll need to have the following documents ready for reference:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your date of birth
- Addresses of anyone who may be named in your policy (such as owners and payers)
- A copy of your ID (driver’s license or US passport)
- Documentation proving the date you joined the military or the date you began OCS/WCSA
- A copy of your LES
Electronic copies of these documents can be uploaded at the end of the application process.
