To qualify, you must be full-time, active-duty military, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve, and you must meet one of these requirements, plus you must have successfully completed a physical examination, all within the last nine (9) months:
- Joined the military
- Started OCS/WCSA
Note: This enrollment application is for new Armed Forces Mutual Members only. You may only hold one (1) BeyondBasic® policy.
As a current OCS Candidate, joining Armed Forces Mutual with $100,000 of BeyondBasic life insurance means you’re eligible for the CAP (Career Assistance Program) Loan — a benefit of Membership that nearly 50,000 servicemembers have used since it was created.
You’ll need to have the following documents ready for reference:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your date of birth
- Addresses of anyone who may be named in your policy (such as owners and payers)
- A copy of your ID (driver’s license or US passport)
- Documentation proving the date you joined the military or the date you began OCS/WCSA
- A copy of your LES
Electronic copies of these documents can be uploaded at the end of the application process.

Once you’ve gathered the information you need to confirm your eligibility:
1. Click on “Apply for BeyondBasic” below to use our Quick Quote Life Insurance Calculator.
2. When you receive your quote, select “BeyondBasic” as your preferred policy.
3. Be sure to check the box to include the CAP Loan Member benefit when it appears if you’d like to add it to your submission.
The application process takes about 15 minutes. Your session will time out after one hour, so save your progress as you go if you need more time or if you want to return later.
