* In order to maintain status as a grandfathered member, grandfathered members must continuously satisfy two requirements:

  1. continue in good standing as an AAFMAA member from and after 30 June 2000; and
  2. continue in good standing at least one life insurance policy which was issued on or before 30 June 2000, which includes a charge for services, either embedded or additional.

Any grandfathered member who terminates all life insurance policies issued prior to 1 July 2000 forfeits his or her grandfathered status and related services. If grandfathered services are forfeited, the member then becomes an Insurance Plus member. Every member’s policy still includes Survivor Assistance Services to the member’s family.
