AAFMAA Members who joined before 1 July 2000, and maintain a policy issued before 1 July 2000, receive our special Living Services. These include secure vault storage (physical and digital) of important documents, VA representation, benefits counseling and more. Explore below to find out what else these services include. Family Information Report Personal affairs planning information, including estimates of Social Security, survivor benefits, Military insurance coverage, and projected college costs. Inquiries with DoD and VA if benefits/annuities appear to be incorrect. Document Storage in a Secure Vault Storage for important family documents needed for filing Survivor and Government claims are stored in a secure vault, not just a safe deposit box. Beneficiary Changes For Non AAFMAA Policies Contact commercial and Government insurance companies to request beneficiary change forms are sent to the member. Military Insurance Counseling Review of Life Insurance policies, including comparisons among policies, and suitability to support your insurance requirements. Financial Awareness Service A report assessing financial position, establishing goals and monitoring progress. Includes net worth statement with asset allocation reviews and projections of portfolio returns, college funding needs and insurance requirements. Notification of Law Changes Up-to-date information on new laws, notification and explanation of the impact. Pre Retirement Separation from Service Social Security Counseling Information on SBP, VA entitlement, Social Security, conversion of SGLI to VGLI, TRICARE, commercial Life Insurance, second career income and lifetime family income needs.
